| Meet Your Therapist
|
My name is Kayla Argo, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia. I graduated from Georgia College & State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Education; I obtained my master's degree in social work from The University of Georgia. Over the last decade, I've worked in residential settings, community practice, group private practice, and education. I've lived locally in Athens since 2019 and am from a small town just north of Clarke County. My path to becoming a mental health provider was inspired by those who helped me navigate my own challenges. I proudly identify with being the first person in my family to graduate from high school. As someone who's personally experienced the benefit of therapy and self exploration, I've now landed here hoping to get to work with you.
When I'm not working, I enjoy being outside, watching or playing sports, reading fantasy books, or lounging around with my dogs. |
Whether it's your first time in therapy or you're looking to build on the work you've already started, you do not have to do it alone.
| What to Expect
|
Change begins with being heard and understood.
I want to help you, help yourself. The goal of my space is a mixture of “kick off your shoes” and “get ready to roll up your sleeves.” Meaning, is it important that you feel met with empathy and free of judgment, while also understanding that growth involves effort and at times discomfort. Sometimes, therapy is making sense of and accepting what it means to be human. Sessions with me are centered on open dialogue and conversation while also leaning into the moments where words are not necessary. My practice is based on my values of authenticity, balance, and flexibility. |
